Perhaps one of the few remaining refuges of “old Portsmouth,” the sky-blue, vine-covered Ceres Bakery celebrated 40 years of business this past weekend.
It was a rather quiet celebration, said owner Penny Brewster, given the virus pandemic. On Saturday, customers brought in flowers, and staff gave out free coffee and stickers.
